The short version

If you click a link to a retailer and buy something, we may receive a small commission. You pay exactly the same price. That commission pays for bottles, hosting and the time it takes to test properly.

What commission never does

• It never changes a score. Scores are set before any link is added.
• It never changes a ranking or the order of a list.
• It never removes criticism. Weaknesses stay in the article.
• It never buys a place on the site. We do not sell reviews or rankings.

Gifted samples

We occasionally receive samples from brands. When a scent we write about was gifted, we say so in the article. A gifted sample is tested to the same standard as a bottle we bought, and it does not earn a softer verdict.

Programmes we take part in

We participate in retailer affiliate programmes for fragrance and beauty products. Links that pay a commission are ordinary text or button links to those retailers.
